The president, Jerry Van Wyk, started his career as a driving instructor 16 years ago and started his own driving school six months later in April 2014. It is now the largest driving school on the Central Coast NSW. In 2017 Awesome Driving School became a provider of the Safer Drivers Course and has grown to become one of the largest providers in NSW.
Jerry is passionate about teaching learner drivers to be safe, confident and educated drivers on our roads. He uses the federally-funded program Keys 2 Drive and has completed over 1100 K2D lessons. Trained as a facilitator and coach for the Safer Drivers Course, Jerry has taught the course on the Central Coast, Newcastle, Hunter Region and Sydney.
Jerry has worked in developing countries such as Philippines, Kenya, Uganda, Russia and South Africa volunteering in orphanages and child sponsorship programs.
Jerry started Professional Driver Educators to provide a forum for driving instructors, supervisors and learner drivers to be able to connect and communicate with each other in a safe, professional and informative way.
